Preparing for Rain
“17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. 18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee. 19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. 20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive. 21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them. 22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.”
God blesses us all the time. Sometimes they are small blessing. But there are many times in a believer’s life when God blesses them in huge ways. There are moments, many in fact, that the only option we have is to trust God to open a door and provide a miracle. When those moments happen, it’s not right to worry and stress. You should trust God completely. He is good, and He will provide a way for you. God is always willing to provide for His children. So we have to claim that blessing that He offers, thank Him in advance and after we receive it, and most important we need to prepare to experience that blessing before it even happens. This is called preparing for rain. I’ve been experiencing this myself lately. See, I am in the middle of a very complicated and stressful move to a new home. Everything gets confusing and tangled up. So I began to worry a bit that it wouldn’t work out. But God promised me that everything would be okay. He said that He would open a door for me to get the place that was just right for me. So before I even knew for sure that I had the place, I started acting like I was moving. I knew that God was going to make a way. I started packing and getting ready. And in the middle of packing, I got a call with a date as to when I could move. I praised God! My faith had brought about a very positive change in my life. I didn’t have to stress and worry. See, we have hope in the Lord. No matter what is going on, God wants to bless you and encourage you. But our fears and stress tend to get in the way. If you let go, give it to God, and prepare to receive what He offers, things run smoothly. Our plans can always fail, but His can not. Noah, when God told him about the coming flood, trusted God’s every word. He knew in his heart that it was coming, that the Earth would be cleansed, and that his family would be spared. So he prepared for rain when no one had ever even seen it before. People must have been giving him funny looks and making snide comments. But in the end, God did as He promised. So my advice to you is get ready, cause God is about to do exactly what you need most in your life. Trust Him. Prepare for the rain.
